Spring Tails from Streatham Hill Vets

Date: 12 Apr 2019
By: admin

Welcome Kittens!!!! 💕👏🏼🥰🥳💕👏🏼

Brave and very strong mummy, Mimi, naturally gave birth to 2 beautiful kittens last night 💘 But she still had 2 kittens left that she was unable to give birth to herself. Our brilliant surgeon, Gabriella, rushed into surgery to perform a c-section to try save them and tired Mimi.

Unfortunately, it was too late… But Mimi and the 2 little boys are doing great! The little ones are suckling milk from patient mummy and getting all the nourishment they need 💙

We’re still trying to come up with perfect names for the booming boys ⁉⁉ Any ideas 🤔😻🤔

Handsome Buddy 😍

He came to see us today for an ultrasound of his abdomen, as his owners were concerned he was struggling to pass stools.

Here he is with our brilliant vet, Ana, who has an advanced certificate in diagnostic imaging. She performed the ultrasound but unfortunately we couldn’t get a definitive answer today, so we’ll see him back for lots more cuddles and some further investigations soon! 🐕

We’ll all be lining up for our Buddy cuddles! ☺️

This handsome ginger boy is Simba 🧡

We’re delighted to report that Simba’s feeling much better today 🤩 Since Sunday he’s been vomiting and was extremely dehydrated and lethargic.

After running some blood tests we found that Simba had pancreatitis. We started Simba on antibiotics to treat a potential gastric infection and some fluids to correct his dehydration.

We’re now encouraging Simba to eat his dinner and get his usually big appetite back. Once he does we’re happy to send his home for lots of Tlc from his family 💕

This little sweetie is Bear 🐾🐾

Bear was in for heart scan today with our Vet Bridget who’s currently undertaking a diagnostic imaging certificate.

Bear was diagnosed with mitral valve disease and will be started on some medication to help relieve his symptoms.

He’s getting a big well done off Bridget for being so brave after his exam 💕

Norma’s dislocated knee cap

Sweetie Norma was suffering with a luxating patella (dislocated knee cap). This happens when the patella is pulled out of the groove where it sits.

One of our talented surgeons Gabriella performed surgery on Norma to repair this. She firstly deepened and widened the groove to better hold the patella. Also Gabriella preformed a tibial crest transposition. This is when we move where the patella is positioned slightly laterally to better slot in to the groove.

We are delighted with how Norma is recovering, already she is putting weight on her leg 👏🏼👏🏼
