Nurses

Lauren, Regional Head Nurse (RVN)

Lauren trained at the Royal Veterinary College, where she studied the BSc Honours degree in Veterinary Nursing. She qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2011 and has experience in private, referral and charity veterinary nursing. Lauren worked as a Senior Nurse at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home for four years and joined us in early 2017.

Lauren is a clinical coach and will be working closely with our student nurses to ensure they all qualify! Lauren enjoys all aspects of nursing but has a real interest in emergency care, rehabilitation and behaviour and is currently undertaking an Emergency and Critical Care certificate.

Lauren has fostered dogs and cats from Battersea and has hand-reared orphan puppies and kittens.

Tracey, Registered Veterinary Nurse

Tracey qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2015 and joined us from a Specialist Referral Clinic in 2016.

Tracey volunteered for 10 years at the London Wildcare Trust (now known as Riverside Animal Centre). She still hand rears injured and orphaned wildlife until they are well enough to be released.

Tracey's favourite animal is a squirrel!

Frankie, Registered Veterinary Nurse

Frankie studied the BSc Honours degree in Veterinary Nursing and Bioveterinary Science at the University of Bristol. She graduated with first class honours in 2015 and worked in a small animal first opinion practice near her hometown of Ipswich, before travelling and working in Australia in 2017.

Frankie enjoys all areas of veterinary nursing but has a passion for anaesthesia, and plans to start her certificate in anesthesia this year.

Outside of nursing, Frankie spends her time (and money) watching comedy and drinking coffee.

Ayla, Qualified Nurse

Ayla studied a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology at the University of Queensland, Australia and graduated in 2016.

After graduating she took the big step of moving to England and worked in a mixed veterinary practice in West Sussex.

In April 2018 she travelled to America to teach horse riding at a summer camp for four months before joining us in September.

In her spare time Ayla enjoys travelling, sleeping and, like all of our nurses, she loves drinking coffee.

Robert, Student Veterinary Nurse

Robert has been with us since January 2014 having worked for another small animal practice in London for seven years before joining our team.

Robert has a keen interest in dog handling and dietary management and has a lovely two-year-old cat called Jazz who is a Russian Blue Cross.

In his spare time Robert enjoys classical literature, learning Polish and making wooden clocks.

Jill, Student Veterinary Nurse

Jill has worked in veterinary practice since leaving school. She left her home town of Kilkenny, Ireland in 2013 and spent two years travelling around Australia and Asia.

Jill joined us in September 2015 and is about to start her veterinary nurse training.

She has a red setter cross called Cotchi and in her spare time she enjoys travelling and reading.

Chloe, Veterinary Care Assistant

Chloe volunteered at The Riverside Animal Centre from 2009 - 2013, also Chloe studied Level 2 Animal Care and wants to expand her knowledge to become a veterinary nurse.

In December 2015 Chloe travelled to Thailand to work with an elephant sanctuary.
